In his statement to BRT, Prime Minister Hüseyin Özgürgün said: “My aim is the continuation of the relations with Turkey in a much more healthy and fruitful way”

Mentioning the issue of the economic protocol with Turkey, Özgürgün said, “We think that we will overcome the problems that caused some discussions before. I think that the protocol will be signed in a very short time.”

On the other hand, Özgürgün said that the allegations such as making 25,000 people TRNC citizens are out of the question and added that lifting the visa restrictions on the EU citizens doesn’t show that Turkey recognizes the South Cyprus.
