TRNC coalition government receives vote of confidence

The four-party CTP-HP-TDP-DP coalition government of the TRNC received a vote of confidence at the General Council of the Republican Assembly yesterday.

The General Council, headed by the Speaker of the Assembly, Teberrüken Uluçay, convened yesterday for the vote.

Twenty-seven deputies voted in favour of the new government, while twenty-two deputies voted against the motion. One MP did not attend the session.

Prime Minister Tufan Erhürman addressed the Assembly following the vote, thanking all attendees for their participation. Erhürman stated that the government will “work to serve the people in the best possible manner,” and that “everyone would work towards protecting the prestige of the parliament.”
