Juncker: “Varosha is one of the main elements of negotiations for a comprehensive solution”

European Commission Chairman Jean-Claude Juncker said “Reinstitution of Famagusta’s closed Varosha area is one of the main elements of negotiations under the auspices of the UN for a comprehensive solution between the two communities”.Juncker also said: “Commission supports the efforts of both leaders and the UN to find a comprehensive solution to the Cyprus problem politically and technically and congratulates the resumption of negotiations. Turkey is also expected to actively support negotiations on the Cyprus issue within the framework of the UN, decisions of Security Council and according to EU’s principles, to find a comprehensive, sustainable and fair solution to the problem.”
