11 February, 2016Speaking at a reception, Turkey’s EU Minister and Chief Negotiator Volkan Bozkır stated that Turkey’s desire about the solution of the Cyprus issue is the same with the desire of the Turkish Cypriots to reach a bi-zonal, bi-communal solution based on political equality. Reminding that the negotiations are continuing in the island, Bozkır said, “We hope a bi-zonal, bi-communal and politically equal solution will be reached in the island and Turkey’s guarantee will continue. We wish success to the two leaders in terms of solving this problem.”
Indicating that Turkey always supports the Turkish Cypriots, “while political negotiations continue, our biggest wish is to reach better conditions and economic development of the island”, said Bozkır.
