Akıncı: “No factors against the rights and interests of the Turkish Cypriot community”

Stating that the agreement reached between the European Union and Turkey in Brussels was positive, President Mustafa Akıncı expressed that there aren’t any factors against the rights and interests of the Turkish Cypriot community. On the contrary, Akıncı evaluated this situation as positive.

In his written statement, Akıncı evaluated the agreement reached between the European Union and Turkey in Brussels and he stated that he welcomed the agreement launched between Turkey and the EU within the new process in order to measure the tragic migration event until peace is achieved in Syria. Akıncı also expressed his hope that measures to be taken may help the pain being experienced.

Furthermore Akıncı also stated that the agreement which was reached as the result of the consensus, culture in the EU is important in terms of opening the new 33^rd chapter during Turkey’s EU full membership negotiations.
