The highest of the last 14 years – 83,375 students

The number of students studying in higher education has reached the highest of the last 14 years. The total number of registered students in universities has increased 13.9% compared with the 2014 – 2015 academic year and has reached 83,375 students.

There was a significant increase in the number of students studying in universities especially after the 2010-2011 academic year. Students from Turkey and other countries have chosen North Cyprus for university education which has resulted in the opening of 7 new universities in last 10 years.

Education Minister Kemal Dürüst stated that the dream of 100.000 students in higher education will be realised.
