8 September, 2016Gülden Plümer Küçük, the Turkish Cypriot member of the Committee on Missing Persons, has made a statement to the TAK Agency regarding the remains of 9 persons were found during the excavations at Güzelyurt Cemetery.
In her statement, Küçük noted that one of the persons was wearing a military uniform. Currently, there are no plans to start any other excavations at Güzelyurt cemetery, unless some new information comes to light.
According to the information provided by the Committee on Missing Persons, 1,508 Greek Cypriots and 493 Turkish Cypriots (2,001 persons in total) went missing between 1963-64 and in 1974.
