26 October, 2016The UN Secretary General’s Special Adviser on Cyprus Espen Barth Eide has said that, with regards to the Cyprus negotiations, “we are in the most critical period that we have ever experienced.”
Following the meeting with President Mustafa Akıncı yesterday, Eide said that they discussed the upcoming meetings, including the meeting to be held abroad between Akıncı and Anastasiades.
Eide reiterated that the current period was the most critical period in the Cyprus talks. “We try to use the time in the best way possible” he said.
Turkish Cypriot Negotiator Özdil Nami and the UN Secretary-General`s Special Representative to Cyprus Elizabeth Spehar were also present at the meeting.
