Talks in Switzerland end without a solution due to the uncompromising attitude of the Greek Cypriot side
22 November, 2016Müftüoğlu: “Date of the five-party conference should be decided without delay”
23 November, 2016The Minister of State for Europe and America at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Alan Duncan stated that the inconclusive outcome of the Cyprus negotiations in Switzerland did not mean that the negotiations have “completely collapsed”.
Responding to questions from MPs regarding the Cyprus negotiations, in Mont Pelerin and Geneva during FCO questions in the British Parliament, Duncan noted that the UK will continue to fully support the negotiation process as one of the guarantor countries.
Duncan added: “It is an exaggeration to say that the talks have totally broken down, but they have stalled for the moment, and we are giving every possible support that we can to enable the talks to continue in the hope that they can yet reach a successful conclusion for the reunification of the island.”
