24 November, 2016The Gamblers Inn, which was renovated in Lefkoşa, was ceremonially opened yesterday by Prime Minister Hüseyin Özgürgün and Tourism Minister Fikri Ataoğlu.
Stating that the Gamblers Inn was a very valuable asset for Lefkoşa, Özgürgün thanked everyone who contributed to the renovation and revitalization of a 500 year old historical asset. Özgürgün also pointed out that other important historical sites such as the Great Inn will also be introduced to the country with the same sensitivity.
The Gamblers Inn is one of 18 Inns which have survived from the Ottoman era until this day in Lefkoşa. After the renovation works, the Ministry of Tourism and Environment will evaluate plans to make the site a local cultural and tourist attraction.
