9 February, 2017Speaking at the “Discover North Cyprus” event, Prime Minister Hüseyin Özgürgün emphasized that the full and effective guarantee of Turkey is necessary.
90% of the Turkish Cypriot people support the full and effective guarantee of Turkish Armed Forces and Turkey, Özgürgün said, and added that a strong and viable agreement based on the political equality of two states can only be reached on the basis of Turkey’s full guarantee.
Özgürgün warned that if the Greek Cypriot side and Greece Foreign Minister maintain their stance that “the solution for us is a solution in which no Turkish flag waves,” a solution would never be possible.
