22 February, 2017President Mustafa Akıncı has received the United Nations Secretary General’s Special Representative to Cyprus Elizabeth Spehar.
The meeting was held at the Presidency and Turkish Cypriot Negotiator Özdil Nami was also present at the meeting.
Speaking to reporters afterwards, the UN Special Representative said that she had exchanged views with President Akıncı on the latest situation.
She added that the meeting was useful in terms of clarifying what was going on with the talks.
Asked whether tomorrow’s scheduled meeting between the two leaders will take place, Spehar said that a decision will emerge following her meeting today with the Greek Cypriot leader Nicos Anastasiades.
