13 March, 2017The Speaker of the Assembly, Sibel Siber has said that Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Anastasiades’ refusal to accept political equality at the negotiation table is insincere.
Siber spoke at a meeting entitled “Cyprus Desk” organized jointly by Girne American University and the Cyprus American University.
In her speech, Siber responded to questions of academics and students on the Cyprus issue.
Expressing that goodwill and sincerity at the negotiation table demonstrate the will for a solution, Siber said that the Greek Cypriot side is not putting effort into preparing its community for a solution, and that this is obstructive to finding a viable solution.
