11 May, 2017President Mustafa Akıncı and Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Anastasiades met with the Director General and Head of the Structural Reform Support Service in the European Commission, Maarten Verwey and the of the European Commission’s President on the Cyprus problem, Peter Van Nuffel. The European Commission delegates made a presentation about the actions which should be implemented with regards to the EU before any settlement is finalised.
In his written statement following the meeting, the Director General and Head of the Structural Reform Support Service in the European Commission, Maarten Verwey expressed that they are ready to provide technical support through experts, to assign private sector and member state experts on request, and to make analyses and recommendations if required.
President Mustafa Akıncı and Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Anastasiades will have a meeting today at 18:30 within the framework of the Cyprus negotiations process.
