11 August, 2017Preparations for the return of Maronites to their villages in North Cyprus continue. The Council, which is carrying out ‘return studies’, met at the Presidency yesterday to discuss the legal, financial, technical and social aspects of the process. The establishment of a subcommittee to ensure the participation of Maronites in the process was agreed during the meeting.
They also discussed the work that has been already done and decided on next steps. The relevant government departments will continue to carry out the necessary studies within the framework of the program.
