16 October, 2017TRNC Minister of Tourism and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu said the TRNC will continue to promote its tourism industry despite the political embargo and obstacles imposed on the island.
Speaking at an event in Gaziantep, Ataoğlu stated that the Ministry will continue to work with stakeholders to encourage tourists to visit the TRNC.
Emphasizing that the Ministry is working to make all tourist projects sustainable, Ataoğlu stated that the Greek Cypriot side has disrupted successes achieved in the recent period, referring to Israeli tourists arriving in Larnaca Airport who were prevented from entering the TRNC by the Greek Cypriot Administration.
The Minister stated: “We will continue to work tirelessly to promote our country against all the obstacles created by the Greek Cypriot side, and to increase tourism revenue in the country… These obstacles only motivate us to be more successful.”
