2 November, 2017It has emerged that South Cyprus has been implicated in the ongoing money laundering scandal in the United States involving US President Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort and his business partner Rick Gates.
The Greek Cypriot daily newspaper Fileleftheros reported that both Manafort and Gates were accused of using offshore companies in South Cyprus, the Seychelles, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to launder money.
The newspaper also reported that there were 200 cases reported regarding the purchase of expensive property, luxury vehicles and antiques in the United States through 12 companies registered in South Cyprus.
