1 November, 2018Derinya and Aplıç Gates will be opened to mutual crossings on 12th November simultaneously. The opening date of the gates was decided at the last meeting of the leaders.
The leaders reached an agreement in May 2015 for the opening of more gates and starting works for the opening of Lefke Aplıç and Derinya gates. Since 2003, 7 gates have been opened and with the opening of Aplıç and Derinya gates, this gives a total of 9 gates opened.
