29 July, 2019United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix met with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus President Mustafa Akıncı yesterday (25th July). President Akıncı informed Lacroix regarding the latest stage reached in the Cyprus issue and expressed the opinion of the Turkish Cypriot side on the UN Peace Forces in Cyprus.
According to the written statement from the Presidency following the meeting at which UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy to Cyprus Elizabeth Spehar was also present, they also exchanged views about how to improve the confidence building measures.
