26 September, 2019President Mustafa Akıncı met with Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Chairperson-in-Office and Slovakia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Miroslav Lajcak yesterday (24th September).
During the meeting, the works executed by the UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy on Cyprus Jane Holl Lute was discussed. Akıncı pointed out the tension caused by unilateral hydrocarbon activities of the Greek Cypriot side in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Akıncı also informed Lajcak about his proposal submitted to the Greek Cypriot leader and informed the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker regarding administration of the hydrocarbon resources by a joint committee.
