16 November, 2020According to the statement of the Near East University, the “Walled City Museum” will be opened on 15th November Republic Day.
The “Walled City Museum”, which will be free of charge, will be open to visitors starting from Sunday, 15thNovember at 10:00.
There are 9 bronze statues of three meters at the entrance of the “Walled City Museum” which will be put into service in the old building of Ziraat Bank at KyreniaGate, which was restored with the initiative of the Günsel family.
In addition to the statues symbolising the victory, the artefacts drawn on the ceilings in the museum include the conquest of Cyprus by the Ottoman Empire and also the 20th July 1974 Peace Operation.
At the Walled City Museum, the works of many award-winning artists, using various techniques about Lefkoşaand Cyprus, will be presented to the taste of art lovers and everyone interested in culture. In addition, many materials belonging to the social, cultural and political past of Lefkoşa will be on display in the museum.
