25 January, 2021President Ersin Tatar issued a commemorative message for those who became martyrs on 20th January 1990 which is the turning point of Azerbaijan’s struggle for independence.
In his message Tatar noted: “As the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, on behalf of myself and my people, I wish God’s mercy on the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the independence of Azerbaijan on 20th January 1990 and patience to their mournful families.
While the martyrs of Azerbaijan on 20th January 1990 died for the sake of independence, they also laid the foundation of today’s victory. We remember them with love, respect and gratitude.”
