19 January, 2024The late leader of the Turkish Cypriot People’s struggle for independence and existence Dr. Fazıl Küçük was commemorated with ceremonies on the 40th anniversary of his death.
The first ceremony for the late leader Küçük was held at the Dr Fazıl Küçük Mausoleum at Anıttepe.
Dr. Küçük’s family, President Ersin Tatar, Speaker of the TRNC Assembly Zorlu Töre, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, 2nd President Mehmet Ali Talat, the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Lefkoşa, Metin Feyzioğlu, Commander of the Cyprus Turkish Peace Forces Major General Sabahattin Kılınç, Commander of the Cyprus Turkish Security Forces Major General Osman Aytaç, Leader of the main opposition Republican Turkish Party Tufan Erhürman, several ministers and MPs, representatives of political parties, institutions and students attended the commemoration ceremony at Anıttepe.
In his speech at the ceremony, President Tatar commemorated Dr Fazıl Küçük, the leader of the struggle for independence and existence, with gratitude on the 40th anniversary of his death.
A second ceremony for Dr. Fazıl Küçük was held at the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) later on Monday morning (15/01/2024).
