President Tatar receives Mario Nava and his accompanying delegation

President Ersin Tatar received the Director-General for Structural Reform Support at the European Commission, Mario Nava, and his accompanying delegation.

In the statement issued by the TRNC Presidency, the following issues were discussed during the meeting:

“The proposals for co-operation conveyed to the Greek Cypriot side by President Ersin Tatar through the UN Secretary-General, the proposal to open a new crossing gate at Haspolat which will reduce the congestion at Metehan Border Gate, and will be reserved exclusively for economic and commercial activities, the efforts enabling bank transfers between the two parties, the pre-feasibility study for the establishment of a solar power plant in the buffer zone, overcoming the trade issues between the two sides and combating diseases of agricultural products.”

The development of bilateral relations between the European Union and the TRNC was also discussed at the meeting.
