25 November, 2024National Unity Party (UBP) Deputies Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu and Ahmet Savaşan represented the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) at the 12th International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) in Cambodia. It was the first time that a political party from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) was represented at the conference.
The MPs, who represented the TRNC, stated that they would continue to struggle to make the TRNC more visible in the international arena.
Hasipoğlu and Savaşan, who attended the International Conference with the invitation of the Cambodian People’s Party and the Presidency of Asian Political Parties, delivered speeches at the 12th General Assembly of the ICAPP.
In their speeches, the deputies emphasized that the demand for sovereignty, equality, and equal international status by the Turkish Cypriot people is legitimate.
The deputies highlighted the Greek Cypriot Administration’s uncompromising attitude and tendency to evade dialogue. They argued that Türkiye’s presence as a Guarantor power brought peace to the island.
