The Second Meeting of the Heads of Committees on Health Issues of the TURKPA Member Parliaments was held in Azerbaijan.
Representing the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Filiz Besim, Deputy Chairperson of the Administrative, Public, and Health Affairs Committee of the TRNC Parliament, highlighted the scarcity of water and healthy food around the world and emphasized the need to solve these global problems through joint efforts.
During the meeting, held at the National Assembly of Azerbaijan under the theme “Climate Change and Health: Legislative Responses to the Health Impacts of Climate Change”, participants discussed opportunities for cooperation among Turkic states to prevent the health impacts of climate change.
The meeting was attended by Vedat Bilgin, Chairperson of the Health, Family, Labor, and Social Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (TBMM); Ehliman Emiraslanov, Chairperson of the Health Committee of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, Vinera Raimbachayeva, Chairperson of the Social Policy Committee of the Kyrgyz Parliament, Bahrom Abdullayev, Chairperson of the Committee on Science, Education and Health Issues of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and Filiz Besim, Deputy Chairperson of the Administrative, Public, and Health Affairs Committee of the TRNC Parliament.
