President Tatar: “Developing a culture of cooperation between two sides is essential”

President Ersin Tatar made a brief statement to the press following a dinner held as part of the informal Cyprus meeting in Geneva, hosted by United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

During his statement, he emphasized that “the development of a culture of cooperation between the two sides is essential.”

President Tatar noted that the dinner had “passed in a pleasant atmosphere,” adding: “We are focusing on developing cooperation between the two sides. There is a need to put in greater effort with regards the problems related to the Cyprus issue.”

Reiterating that “cooperation is essential” and that “these contacts demonstrate that cooperation is indeed possible”, President Tatar stated that the issues would be addressed in today’s meetings.
