TRNC takes part in Grand Hun-Turkic Kurultai in Hungary

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) was represented at the Grand Hun-Turkic Kurultai, held in Bugac, Hungary, by Prof. Dr. Tülen Saner and Ayhan Türe, members of the Prime Ministry’s Supervisory Board.

Organized by the Hungarian Turan Foundation, the event aims to promote the traditional cultures, historical heritage and shared values of communities of Hun and Turkic origin.

During the opening ceremony held on 15 August, the TRNC flag was displayed alongside the flags of Turkic states and participating countries.

The TRNC delegation attended the official opening ceremony and the mounted flag parade together with Türkiye’s Ambassador to Budapest Gülsun Erkul and TRNC Representative to Budapest Çağrı Kalfaoğlu.

On the sidelines of the event, the delegation also held meetings with Kürşad Zorlu, Türkiye’s Deputy Chairman of the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) responsible for relations with Turkic States, TİKA President Abdullah Eren, and Andras Biro, President of the Hungarian Turan Foundation.
