President Ersin Tatar called on the European Union (EU) to fulfill its promises given to the Turkish Cypriot people during the Annan Plan referendum process and to end its biased stance on Cyprus.

Making a statement on the occasion of the 9 May “Europe Day”, Tatar stated that the European Union has moved away from its basic principles, continues to act against them and persists in its biased stance on Cyprus.

“The European Union’s stance on Cyprus, which does not take into account the rights of the Turkish Cypriot people, is not only worrying but also hinders the solution efforts. The European Union should put an end to this biased stance” Tatar added.
