Random Attempts will compete for OSCAR selections

The short film “Random Attempts” which was directed by Doğuş Özokutan together with Vasvi Çiftçioğlu was selected for the international competition section of “Short Shorts & Asia Film Festival” which selects the Oscar awards.

Random Attempts which was selected for the international competition among the 6,000 applicants will get the right to apply to the American Academy Awards, which is simply known as The Oscars, in the event of receiving the first prize from this festival. Precondition of being able to apply for the Oscar short film competition is to win an award from an Oscar selection festival.

Short Shorts Film Festival, which Random Attempts has succeeded in entering in its official competition, is the only short film competition in the whole of Asia which has the authority for Oscar selections.

It was announced that there were 6,000 applicants from 100 countries in the 18th “Short Shorts Film Festival” which will be held in Japan’s capital Tokyo this year.

In total 40 films, including Random Attempts, have been selected for the international competition section of the festival.

Random Attempts will be screened for an audience four times within the framework of the international competition between the dates of 2nd – 26th June, 2016.
