23 August, 2022TRNC President Ersin Tatar, in his message on the 48th anniversary of the liberation of Lefke, noted that the fascist Greek Junta’s dreams of transforming Cyprus into a Hellenic island were ended by the Cyprus Peace Operation, by the heroic Mehmetçik and mujahideen.
In his message, the President celebrated the 48th anniversary of the liberation of Lefke and said “We are shouting once again to the whole world that the Turkish Cypriots, who have existed forever in their own homeland and won the struggle to be free, will always stand shoulder to shoulder with Türkiye.”
Adding “Our greatest responsibility to our veterans, martyrs and children is to glorify, develop and protect our state”, President Tatar commemorated all martyrs with mercy and respect, and expressed his gratitude to all veterans.
