Following the meeting, at the\u00a0 joint press conference, \u00c7avu\u015fo\u011flu stated that Turkish Cypriot side showed the necessary will to reach a solution in the island in a short time however, only Turkish Cypriots\u2019 efforts\u00a0 are not enough\u00a0 to reach a solution .<\/p>\n<p>Stressing that not\u00a0 reacting to the unilateral activities of the Greek Cypriot side which they have been continuing\u00a0 by disregarding the\u00a0 legal rights and interests of the Turkish Cypriots\u00a0 is not possible, \u00c7avu\u015fo\u011flu said that motherland Turkey and TRNC put forth constructive proposals following Greek Cypriots\u2019 pulling out of the negotiation table.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c7avu\u015fo\u011flu reminded that these proposals aims at securing the rights and interests of the Turkish Cypriots as well as enabling\u00a0 Greek Cypriot side\u2019s return to the negotiation table. He also added that\u00a0 they are working\u00a0 on these proposals\u00a0 with the UN Secretary General\u2019s Special Advisor on Cyprus and Greece.<\/p>\n<p>Indicating that efforts and proposals\u00a0 are always carried out\u00a0 with\u00a0 the TRNC, \u00c7avu\u015fo\u011flu said that Greek Cypriot side was expected to end its drilling activities after the\u00a0 expiration of the NAVTEX on 30 December 2014, however the\u00a0 Greek Cypriot side\u00a0 continued with\u00a0 its unilateral activities.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c7avu\u015fo\u011flu said that, on the contrary,\u00a0 the\u00a0 Greek Cypriot side extended the current drilling period\u00a0 and zone, and it became obvious with the Greek Cypriot sides\u2019 statement made on 5 January\u00a0 that the\u00a0 Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Anastasiades\u2019 attitude has not changed.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c7avu\u015fo\u011flu stressed that it is expected from the\u00a0 Greek Cypriot side to abandon their mistake as soon as possible\u00a0 and adopt a clear attitude regarding a new partnership\u00a0\u00a0 based on\u00a0 two co-owner people\u2019s will and political equality. \u00c7avu\u015fo\u011flu said \u201cthe Greek Cypriot side should return to the negotiation table and should show its sincere efforts towards reaching a lasting solution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In his speech, President Dervi\u015f Ero\u011flu said \u201cWe are\u00a0 pursuing\u00a0 a policy of peace and\u00a0 conciliation in Cyprus and support a comprehensive solution.
