Mustafa Ak\u0131nc\u0131 who has been elected as the President of the TRNC stated that he has taken 60% of votes and his vision is the vision of his people and it must be respected.<\/p>\n
Ak\u0131nc\u0131 has taken his certificate of election with a ceremony organized at the High Court of Justice Council yesterday. Ak\u0131nc\u0131 wished the result of the election to be beneficial for the Turkish Cypriot people and said that they made serious contribution to the democratic process together with 7 candidates. \u201cThe people elected me. I will work with all of my power\u201d Ak\u0131nc\u0131 added.<\/p>\n
Answering the questions of journalists after the ceremony, Ak\u0131nc\u0131 said regarding the critics of President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan towards himself: \u201cMotherland- Baby land love must be in the hearts\u201d.<\/p>\n
Ak\u0131nc\u0131 continued his speech saying: \u201cThere is an entity as the TRNC. Turkish Republic recognizes this. This entity has its institutions and President. Two states are being discussed. We should be in a relationship as brothers\/sisters, not a relationship of a motherland and her child. Turkish Cypriot community should stand on its own feet so that it can be more powerful within the federal structure and the EU. \u00a0Such a brotherhood relation will also be good for Turkey.\u201d<\/p>\n
Furthermore, stating that he has reiterated his views during the campaign process, Ak\u0131nc\u0131 indicated that he envisages a solution oriented policy.<\/p>\n
As an answer to a question regarding meeting with the Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Anastasiades, Ak\u0131nc\u0131 said \u201cThe date and place of the meeting has not been decided yet. UN Secretary General\u2019s Special Advisor on Cyprus Espen Barth Eide is coming to the island on 4 May. He has announced that he wants to meet with me. When he arrives in Cyprus, we will talk how we can continue the negotiation process.
