As part of the project, the water pipe constructed under the sea, which is currently 66.5 kilometres long, runs from the Alak\u00f6pr\u00fc dam in Mersin to Northern Cyprus.<\/span><u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">According to the information obtained by Anadolu Agency reporters, due to completion of the water pipeline, there will be a ceremony on Friday, 7 August in the TRNC with the participation of the Turkish Minister of Forestry and Water Affairs Veysel Ero\u011flu. <\/span><u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">As part of the project, which is intended to be finished by the end of this year, the construction of a 24-km-long transmission line from the Turkish side, a 3.7-km-long transmission line from the Turkish Cypriot side, and a 67-km-long transmission line from the Ge\u00e7itk\u00f6y water supply station has been completed.<\/span><u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The construction of transmission lines from the TRNC water treatment plant to Kyrenia, Famagusta and Dipkarpaz is still ongoing. <\/span><u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">When the project terminates, 75,000,000 cubic meter (<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">cbm) <\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">of drinking and irrigation water will be supplied from the Alak\u00f6pr\u00fc dam to the Ge\u00e7itk\u00f6y dam in the TRNC annually through a 106-km-long pipeline.
