{"id":139394,"date":"2016-01-05T12:04:40","date_gmt":"2016-01-05T10:04:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/statement-by-former-negotiators\/"},"modified":"2016-01-05T12:04:40","modified_gmt":"2016-01-05T10:04:40","slug":"statement-by-former-negotiators","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/statement-by-former-negotiators\/","title":{"rendered":"Statement by former negotiators"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The former negotiators Osman Ertu\u011f and Erg\u00fcn Olgun made a joint statement and they evaluated the statements made by President Mustafa Ak\u0131nc\u0131 at the press meeting held on 29 December and also the Greek Cypriot side\u2019s reaction regarding these statements.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It was stressed that Ak\u0131nc\u0131\u2019s attitude and position put forth on the issues of political equality, bi-zonality, security and guarantees and Confidence Building Measures are enough to prepare the atmosphere for the reconciliation. It was also stressed that continuation of showing determination on these issues is essential.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the statement, it was underlined that it is also essential to remove the uncertainty on the issue of property, to protect bi-zonality, to solve the issue of property through exchange and compensation, to make the necessary arrangements not to make a great number of people affected by that issue and not to corrupt the socio-economic structure composed within decades.
