{"id":139424,"date":"2016-01-14T09:55:05","date_gmt":"2016-01-14T07:55:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/founding-president-denktas-was-commemorated\/"},"modified":"2016-01-14T09:55:05","modified_gmt":"2016-01-14T07:55:05","slug":"founding-president-denktas-was-commemorated","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/founding-president-denktas-was-commemorated\/","title":{"rendered":"Founding President Denkta\u015f was commemorated"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Founding President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Rauf Raif Denkta\u015f was commemorated with ceremonies on the 4thanniversary of his death.<\/p>\n<p> In his speech at the ceremony President Ak\u0131nc\u0131 said that Rauf Raif Denkta\u015f, whom they remembered with respect on the 4th anniversary of his death, was a great leader who guided the Turkish Cypriot people when efforts had been made to wipe out Turkish Cypriot identity from the island.<\/p>\n<p> President Ak\u0131nc\u0131 said that the time is continuously passing, a new world and new conditions are existing today but the needs of the Turkish Cypriots have not changed in essence, as they were previously, today they are trying to find ways to become rooted and grounded permanently in the island.<\/p>\n<p>Ak\u0131nc\u0131 said: \u201cOf course, just as the late Denkta\u015f did in his time we also have to find a proper way through which we will meet the needs of the present time. Therefore, we are working with all our good intention for a fair settlement.
