{"id":139716,"date":"2016-03-29T07:47:15","date_gmt":"2016-03-29T04:47:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/cavusoglu-and-kerry-upbeat-on-2016-solution\/"},"modified":"2016-03-29T07:47:15","modified_gmt":"2016-03-29T04:47:15","slug":"cavusoglu-and-kerry-upbeat-on-2016-solution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/cavusoglu-and-kerry-upbeat-on-2016-solution\/","title":{"rendered":"Cavusoglu and Kerry upbeat on 2016 solution"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and US Secretary of State John Kerry have both backed hopes that a settlement to the Cyprus problem could be reached by the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cavusoglu met with Kerry in Washington with both officials upbeat about the chances of a deal being struck between Greek Cypriot leader Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWe have also some good news from the eastern part of the Mediterranean, I mean Cyprus,\u201d Cavusoglu was quoted as saying after their meeting. \u201cWe are hoping to reach a settlement in Cyprus in 2016.
