In his speech, Ak\u0131nc\u0131 pointed out that a solution to be reached in the island will develop the relations between the countries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ecxMsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Furthermore, expressing the progress and the difficulties experienced at the negotiations, Ak\u0131nc\u0131 informed about the confidence building measures. Adding that Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots have been grown up as the enemies, Ak\u0131nc\u0131 said \u201cWhen I took over my office, I expressed that we should consider ourselves as partners not as enemies.\u201d \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ecxMsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u201cYou have succeeded to destroy the Berlin Wall 27 years ago. We voted \u201cyes\u201d at the referendum held in 2004 but due to the \u201cno\u201d votes of the Greek Cypriots, we could not succeed to destroy the wall in Lefko\u015fa. What we need is to destroy the walls in brains.
