{"id":139874,"date":"2016-05-12T09:06:38","date_gmt":"2016-05-12T06:06:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/denktas-the-greek-cypriot-side-is-consistently-making-disturbing-explanations-at-the-negotiating-table\/"},"modified":"2016-05-12T09:06:38","modified_gmt":"2016-05-12T06:06:38","slug":"denktas-the-greek-cypriot-side-is-consistently-making-disturbing-explanations-at-the-negotiating-table","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/denktas-the-greek-cypriot-side-is-consistently-making-disturbing-explanations-at-the-negotiating-table\/","title":{"rendered":"Denkta\u015f: \u201cThe Greek Cypriot side is consistently making disturbing explanations at the negotiating table\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Serdar Denkta\u015f said: \u201cThe Greek side is consistently making disturbing explanations at the negotiating table and they are doing this by blaming us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Denkta\u015f who held contacts in Ankara yesterday, also met with Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Tu\u011frul T\u00fcrke\u015f at \u00c7ankaya Presidential Palace.<\/p>\n<p>Upon a question concerning the negotiations in Cyprus, Denkta\u015f emphasized that the negotiations are continuing and stated that President Mustafa Ak\u0131nc\u0131 and his team have a sincere demand for a solution and a good will about the negotiations.<\/p>\n<p>Pointing out that Turkey gives positive support in this regard, Denkta\u015f said that the Greek Cypriot side give statements that negatively affect the process. Denkta\u015f also stated that the Greek Cypriots have made declarations such as the Turkish Cypriots have 17 billion Euros debt and a settlement could not be reached unless Turkey waives this debt. Stating that they gave the necessary answer as the government, Denkta\u015f said that Turkey is the only supporter of the Turkish Cypriots due to the isolations by the Greek Cypriots since 1963.<\/p>\n<p>Denkta\u015f said: \u201cIf there will be a real settlement based on political equality, even though we have such a debt, Turkey has enough power to waive this debt for a real and viable settlement. Such statements betray our people\u2019s trust and reveal the unwillingness of the Greek Cypriots.
