{"id":140188,"date":"2016-09-09T12:43:50","date_gmt":"2016-09-09T09:43:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/joint-statement-by-former-negotiators-ertug-and-olgun\/"},"modified":"2016-09-09T12:43:50","modified_gmt":"2016-09-09T09:43:50","slug":"joint-statement-by-former-negotiators-ertug-and-olgun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/joint-statement-by-former-negotiators-ertug-and-olgun\/","title":{"rendered":"Joint statement by former negotiators Ertu\u011f and Olgun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Twoformer negotiators Osman Ertu\u011f and Erg\u00fcnOlgun made a joint statement in which they observed some \u201cworrying developments\u201d in this period of intensified Leaders\u2019 talks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ertu\u011f and Olgun noted that a tripartite summit and multilateral meetings are expected to be held in the near future.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In their written statement, Ertu\u011f and Olgunhighlighted statements by Greek Cypriot Leader Nikos Anastasiades, as well as the allegations and statements in the Greek Cypriot press, which were a clear violation and reconstitution of the UN parameters which were obtained after years of negotiations. These developments are worrisome, the two former negotiators wrote, and causeda great deal of discomfort in public, even though they areonly partly true.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ertu\u011f and Olgun claimed that the Turkish Cypriot leadership\u2019s silenceon the matteris neitherunderstandable nor acceptable.
