{"id":140255,"date":"2016-10-25T11:08:04","date_gmt":"2016-10-25T08:08:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/citizens-living-abroad-will-be-able-to-take-their-own-name-and-their-fathers-name-as-an-official-surname-in-the-trnc-under-the-new-legislation\/"},"modified":"2016-10-25T11:08:04","modified_gmt":"2016-10-25T08:08:04","slug":"citizens-living-abroad-will-be-able-to-take-their-own-name-and-their-fathers-name-as-an-official-surname-in-the-trnc-under-the-new-legislation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/citizens-living-abroad-will-be-able-to-take-their-own-name-and-their-fathers-name-as-an-official-surname-in-the-trnc-under-the-new-legislation\/","title":{"rendered":"Citizens living abroad will be able to take their own name and their father\u2019s name as an official surname in the TRNC under the new legislation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Work is continuing on a new system of regulations which enable Turkish citizens living abroad to use their father&#8217;s names and surnames as their official surname in the TRNC.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Interior Minister Kutlu Evren stated that the Ministry are preparing for a \u201crevolutionary\u201d update to register legislation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Minister Evren outlined the changes on Birth and Death Registration Act No. 2\/1975, which regulates birth and death registration procedures since 1975.
