{"id":140550,"date":"2017-03-02T06:31:34","date_gmt":"2017-03-02T03:31:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/akinci-had-a-telephone-conversation-with-tillerson\/"},"modified":"2017-03-02T06:31:34","modified_gmt":"2017-03-02T03:31:34","slug":"akinci-had-a-telephone-conversation-with-tillerson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/akinci-had-a-telephone-conversation-with-tillerson\/","title":{"rendered":"Ak\u0131nc\u0131 had a telephone conversation with Tillerson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has stated that he appreciates the efforts to find a solution for a bi-zonal, bi-communal federal agreement, adding that the new US government is ready to provide its support.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tillerson called President Mustafa Ak\u0131nc\u0131 earlier this week, receiving a briefing on the Cyprus negotiations. \u00a0Tillerson stressed that a solution in Cyprus is important not only for the two societies in the island but for the entire region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">President Ak\u0131nc\u0131 also received a thank you letter from former US Secretary of State John Kerry, who handed over his role to Rex Tillerson when the new US administration came to office.
