{"id":140614,"date":"2017-04-03T12:57:50","date_gmt":"2017-04-03T09:57:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/denktas-resolution-to-talks-not-possible-with-the-greek-cypriot-sides-current-understanding-of-a-fair-solution\/"},"modified":"2017-04-03T12:57:50","modified_gmt":"2017-04-03T09:57:50","slug":"denktas-resolution-to-talks-not-possible-with-the-greek-cypriot-sides-current-understanding-of-a-fair-solution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/denktas-resolution-to-talks-not-possible-with-the-greek-cypriot-sides-current-understanding-of-a-fair-solution\/","title":{"rendered":"Denkta\u015f: Resolution to talks \u201cnot possible\u201d with the Greek Cypriot side\u2019s current understanding of a fair solution"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Serdar Denkta\u015f, has outlined the difficulties in reaching a successful resolution to the Cyprus talks, as a result of the Greek Cypriot side\u2019s current understanding of the issues at stake and definition of a fair solution.<\/p>\n<p>Denkta\u015f made the comments while speaking at \u00a0a conference\u00a0entitled, &#8220;The Latest Developments in the Cyprus Negotiations and the Aftermath&#8221;, organized by the European University of Lefke (EUL) on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>In his speech, Denkta\u015f spoke about Cyprus\u2019 history, and indicated that the outcome \u00a0desired by the Turkish Cypriots is a new state formed by two equal states, a new Republic, and the continuation of Turkey\u2019s full and effective guarantees. Denkta\u015f, who also spoke about the referendum on the Annan Plan, stated that the Greek Cypriot side\u2019s attitude presented challenges in reaching a successful conclusion to the talks.
