In his message \u00d6zg\u00fcrg\u00fcn emphasized that his greatest wish is that the children of today do not suffer wars or the pains resulting from conflict. \u00d6zg\u00fcrg\u00fcn stated that 23<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0of April 1920 was a turning point in the history of the Republic of Turkey, and an honourable feast day for the children.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00d6zg\u00fcrg\u00fcn said, \u201cAs a Turkish Cypriot who experienced the pain of war in my childhood during the years of struggle for existence, my greatest wish is that children do not suffer war or the pains that come with conflict. Our fundamental duty is to leave a modern, democratic and caring country to our children, where they can look to the future in security and trust.
