{"id":140711,"date":"2017-05-12T10:53:41","date_gmt":"2017-05-12T07:53:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/members-of-the-committee-on-missing-persons-visit-un-headquarters\/"},"modified":"2017-05-12T10:53:41","modified_gmt":"2017-05-12T07:53:41","slug":"members-of-the-committee-on-missing-persons-visit-un-headquarters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/members-of-the-committee-on-missing-persons-visit-un-headquarters\/","title":{"rendered":"Members of the Committee on Missing Persons visit UN Headquarters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Members of the Committee on Missing Persons (CMP) visited the United Nations Headquarters in New York on 8-9 May.<\/p>\n<p>Members met with\u00a0UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs\u00a0Jeffrey Feltman,\u00a0UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations\u00a0Jean-Pierre Lacroix and with other authorities.<\/p>\n<p>From 24 April to 5 May, 3 members of the CMP, including Paul-Henri Arni and two Cypriot researchers, studied both confidential and public documents at the UN archives dated 1963\/4 and 1974. This research helped discover burial places of missing persons in Cyprus.<\/p>\n<p>It was announced that one more visit will be needed to complete the study of archives in New York.
