{"id":140799,"date":"2017-06-23T09:47:39","date_gmt":"2017-06-23T06:47:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/akinci-negotiation-opportunity-will-arise-if-zero-troops-zero-guarantee-approach-is-abandoned\/"},"modified":"2017-06-23T09:47:39","modified_gmt":"2017-06-23T06:47:39","slug":"akinci-negotiation-opportunity-will-arise-if-zero-troops-zero-guarantee-approach-is-abandoned","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/akinci-negotiation-opportunity-will-arise-if-zero-troops-zero-guarantee-approach-is-abandoned\/","title":{"rendered":"Ak\u0131nc\u0131: Negotiation opportunity \u201cwill arise if zero troops zero guarantee approach is abandoned\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Mustafa Ak\u0131nc\u0131 has emphasized that opportunities for a \u00a0fruitful negotiation process will arise \u00a0if the Greek Cypriot side gives up its \u201czero troops zero guarantee approach\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>President Mustafa Ak\u0131nc\u0131 was speaking at a press conference at Ercan Airport ahead of his departure to Ankara.<\/p>\n<p>Ak\u0131nc\u0131 stated that the Turkish Cypriot side has frequently asserted that the new negotiations, which will start on 28 June in Switzerland, will be the last stop for the process, and that this view is shared by the UN and the US Vice President Mike Pence.<\/p>\n<p>Stating that Turkey have always supported the process, Ak\u0131nc\u0131 said that he will hold meetings with Turkish Prime Minister Binali Y\u0131ld\u0131r\u0131m, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevl\u00fct \u00c7avu\u015fo\u011flu and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan regarding the Cyprus Conference in Crans-Montana.<\/p>\n<p>Ak\u0131nc\u0131 said that he briefed the leaders of the political parties on the common document prepared by the UN Special Advisor Espen Barth Eide about the issues around Security and Guarantees, and that the document contains the questions and answers presented by the sides during the conference in Mont Pelerin, as well as their concerns and perspectives.
