{"id":140917,"date":"2017-08-16T11:31:01","date_gmt":"2017-08-16T08:31:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/taskent-martyrs-are-remembered\/"},"modified":"2017-08-16T11:31:01","modified_gmt":"2017-08-16T08:31:01","slug":"taskent-martyrs-are-remembered","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/taskent-martyrs-are-remembered\/","title":{"rendered":"Ta\u015fkent martyrs are remembered"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 43<sup>rd<\/sup> anniversary of the massacre in Ta\u015fkent was commemorated with a ceremony earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking during the ceremony, the Head of Yukar\u0131 Ta\u015fkent Durmu\u015f A\u015fand\u0131r commemorated the occasion 43 years ago, on 14 August 1974 that Greek militant forces killed 84 people from the villages of Ta\u015fkent and Terazi.<\/p>\n<p>A\u015fand\u0131r said that Turkey exercised its 1960 guarantor rights and organised the Cyprus Peace Operation on 20 July 1974, saving the Turkish Cypriot people from the massacre.<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cThe only thing we want is the continuation of Turkey\u2019s full and effective guarantee.
