During the meeting, he said that it has become clear that an open-ended process will not lead us to a solution. He also said that the 1960 agreement survived for three years, but that the Enosis\u00a0[union with Greece] aspirations\u00a0of Greek Cypriots brought separation and conflict to the island.<\/p>\n<p>Ak\u0131nc\u0131 stressed that although Turkish Cypriots voted \u201cyes\u201d and Greek Cypriots voted \u201cno\u201d in the 2004 referendum, the Greek Cypriot side became a member of the EU.<\/p>\n<p>He added that neither Turkey nor the Turkish Cypriot side saw a positive approach by the Greek Cypriot side in Crans-Montana.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Ak\u0131nc\u0131 received Turkish Deputy Prime Minister and Responsible for Cyprus Affairs Recep Akda\u011f yesterday.
