{"id":141037,"date":"2017-10-27T12:19:05","date_gmt":"2017-10-27T09:19:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/akinci-a-northern-cyprus-state-in-accordance-with-eu-norms-will-benefit-everyone\/"},"modified":"2017-10-27T12:19:05","modified_gmt":"2017-10-27T09:19:05","slug":"akinci-a-northern-cyprus-state-in-accordance-with-eu-norms-will-benefit-everyone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/akinci-a-northern-cyprus-state-in-accordance-with-eu-norms-will-benefit-everyone\/","title":{"rendered":"Ak\u0131nc\u0131: \u201cA Northern Cyprus state in accordance with EU norms will benefit everyone\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking at the 2017 \u201cOne Step Forward\u201d Diplomats International (DMW) Summit at Girne American University (GAU), President Mustafa Ak\u0131nc\u0131 stated that the presence of a state and community in accordance with EU norms in Northern Cyprus is of benefit to all, although it is unrecognized by the international community.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Founded in Cologne, Germany, Diplomats International (DMW) aims to bring about European integration and EU enlargement. It also assists candidate countries preparing for accession during the EU enlargement process and is recognized by the United Nations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">President Ak\u0131nc\u0131 also stated that the Ad-Hoc committee\u2019s work was hindered by South Cyprus \u2013 with collusion from the EU \u2013 after the Crans-Montana summit. The Committee was originally organized within the framework of the negotiations to provide technical support for developing custom legislation and food and environmental capacities for Northern Cyprus. As a result, none of the committees have visited the TRNC in five months.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ak\u0131nc\u0131 also noted that aid has only been provided to South Cyprus and commented that aid given to Northern Cyprus has been insufficient.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ak\u0131nc\u0131 also made it clear that welcoming Northern Cyprus to the EU would be of benefit to the Greek Cypriot side.
