{"id":141109,"date":"2017-12-21T13:22:37","date_gmt":"2017-12-21T10:22:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/ozgurgun-although-54-years-have-passed-it-seems-that-greek-cypriots-have-not-abandoned-their-mindset\/"},"modified":"2017-12-21T13:22:37","modified_gmt":"2017-12-21T10:22:37","slug":"ozgurgun-although-54-years-have-passed-it-seems-that-greek-cypriots-have-not-abandoned-their-mindset","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pio.mfa.gov.ct.tr\/en\/ozgurgun-although-54-years-have-passed-it-seems-that-greek-cypriots-have-not-abandoned-their-mindset\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00d6zg\u00fcrg\u00fcn: \u201cAlthough 54 years have passed, it seems that Greek Cypriots have not abandoned their mindset\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prime Minister H\u00fcseyin \u00d6zg\u00fcrg\u00fcn has said that although 54 years have passed since the Turkish Cypriot struggle for survival, recorded in history as \u201cBloody Christmas\u201d,\u00a0 the Greek Cypriots have still not abandoned their mindset.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Stressing that the Greek and Greek-Cypriot duo killed many innocent Turkish Cypriots with the aim of Enosis-annexing the island to Greece, \u00d6zg\u00fcrg\u00fcn said that thousands of Turkish Cypriots were displaced and subjected to inhuman massacres.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In his message issued on the occasion of Martyrs Week, Prime Minister \u00d6zg\u00fcrg\u00fcn noted that it is not possible for the Turkish Cypriots to forget this black mark in history. \u00d6zg\u00fcrg\u00fcn said, \u201cAlthough more than 50 years have passed since the event, we have seen during negotiations that the Greek Cypriot mentality has not changed. Turkish Cypriots paid a great price to reach an atmosphere of peace and prosperity.
